Love wins
her heart for Christ. Her name is Karen and she is nineteen. She
lives with her boyfriend and they “fight a lot.” He is unemployed,
rent is due, bills are piling up, and she is pregnant.
Although
personally against abortion, Karen is feeling the burden of her
circumstance. She is stressed and in need of our support and the
grace of God.
Becoming
friends with Karen and helping her sort out the issues she is
struggling with is a rewarding privilege. At our encouragement she
has begun attending Care Net’s parenting classes. This is giving
her the opportunity to prepare for receiving her child by developing
basic parenting skills while earning a supply of free diapers each
week, and upon completion, she will receive a small gift certificate
to Wal-Mart.
Touched by
the compassion and love she experiences while interacting with our
staff, Karen opened her heart to our parenting instructor and
invited Christ into her life. Today we are rejoicing, not only is
there another woman choosing life for her unplanned baby, but a mom
who’s life is being transformed before our very eyes. Thank you for
